PUBLIC NOTICE

On May 11, 2026, the proposed
Fiscal Year 2026–2027 Budget for Polk County, North Carolina was distributed to the Board of Commissioners and is available for public inspection in the Administration Office located on the first floor of the Womack Building, 40 Courthouse Street, Columbus, North Carolina. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Notice is hereby given that the Polk County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2026–2027 Budget on June 1, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the R. Jay Foster Hall of Justice, located on the second floor of the Womack Building, 40 Courthouse Street, Columbus, North Carolina. The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment on the proposed 2026–2027 budget.
If you are unable to attend the hearing, you may submit written comments regarding the proposed budget to the Clerk to the Board, Kennedy Freeman at kfreeman@polknc.gov or by mail to P.O. Box 308, Columbus, NC 28722.
